Steps Before Overclocking your PC

It's not so that the Overclocking can tremendously increase your speed but can only add to it. Having it done is a risky process. Many a time overclocking a processor only changes the mere speed of the Processor very much less that there is no use of doing so. As the working speed of the Processor changer after overclocking so as the different parameters of the system also changes like the temperature of the CPU or the Processor rises. So one must have a proper cooling system so as to make it cool relatively. Try to have extra cooling fans with good rpm so as to boost the cooling needs of the Processor. These processors are now after Overclocking working at higher the rated speed so they will generate a tremendous amount of heat so a proper cooling is must as it will harm your processor. Excessive heating of these processors is always harmful for the system.

There are many of the Heat Sinks available in the market which has a good larger surface area for proper heat radiation than the normal heat sink which is provided by the manufacturers. Go for those heat sinks as they will radiate a larger heat and will keep the Processor cooler even working at higher speed.

The next important thing to worry about is the Proper Power Supply for your system if you are going to have the Overclocking done for your Processor. As the processor is working at a very high speed than rated it should have an efficient Power Supply so as to provide it with a constant Power Supply with high wattage. So one should also take care of this before having to go for Overclocking done

Another thing to look about is that we have changed the speed of the Processor but the speed of the other devices attached to the system remains the same. This change in speed of the Processor might be compatible with the other devices also like the Memory, Graphic card, Motherboard etc.

Note one can choose to change anything from the above three specifications mentioned that is Front Side Bus, Base Clock Speed and CPU Multiplier. But we cannot do all at once. Sometime one will help in some of the Processor and another will not. It strictly depends upon the type of Processor and the supporting BIOS on the Motherboard which will help it done. So always go for having a proper selection of what parameters you are going to change or configure.
