Setting up Proper BIOS Configuration for Overclocking

In the above topic we have talked about various aspects of Overclocking. Now let us apply these techniques and in a hope to configure the speeds such so as to maximize the system performance.

For having doing so your system BIOS must support configuring of the Front Side Bus or the Base Clock Speed. This may not be available in normal PC's these features of BIOS is only available in some high end BIOS setup. Those having these setups can easily change the clock speeds according to their needs. So first step to check if your BIOS supports this configuration or not.

BIOS Setings

The thing which we have to do is to select from the Parameters which are going to select to configure. It totally depends on your Processor. So overall speaking chooses anyone of the parameters and changes its parameters. Do not have the all the change done at one time. Go for it in an increasing order. First try to increase from the smallest possible value then save the changes made and reboot the system. This type of Overclocking process is generally appreciated as having changing the configuration at one go can cause an adverse effect on the system so go for increasing the specifications slightly.

A proper ground to top approach must be followed in doing so. Always save your configuration and reboot your system so as to have the changes to take place. There are many of the software available which monitors the CPU for its BUS speed and the Voltages utilized by it. Install any one of them and look after their readings each time you changes and reboots your system.

One such software is CPU-Z which monitors the installed Processor for its speed and voltages of its working and gives the accurate readings. Have a note of them before and after reading of these data and look that the system is running smooth or not after having configuring the system speed.

Many a time these software be faulty so always rely on the software which comes incorporated with your Motherboard. These CPU or system monitoring software is available on your motherboard CD which comes with your Motherboard. For having an accurate data go for that software and have the reading of the CPU each time you reboot your system.
