You may have noticed many files with the name xyz.dll in your system32 folder inside your Windows folder. The extention of the file .dll stands for Dynamic Logical Link. This files are used by many of the application programs which call them regularly for performing a particular type of work. These Dll files have an specific work to perform but as an individual they are useless unless they are called upon by some Application running to perform some task.
For example when you open an Office Document then the Print option present there is useless unless you print any page. When you try to print any page by pressing the Print button then a small Dll file is called which is specially written to perform the print opperation. Thus by using this type of operation during a program run can help us in maintaining our Memory more efficiently.
